Here is my take, get the 10mm gun with conversion barrels for each of the following...40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon. All four of these share the same cartridge head diameter and can use the same magazines...

This is precisely what I did with my Glock 29 and still waiting for the 357Sig conversion barrel to add to my S&W1006 5.00" and a few other barrels to fit my S&W1076 4.25".

The 9x25 dillon is a 10mm casing necked down to a 9mm.It won't fit in a 40 mag atleast it won't fit in any of my 40 S&W mags.I have over 2000 rounds of 9x25 Dillonloaded bullets.Rob Leatham got tendonitis from shooting the dillon round not to mention wearing out several custom built guns.Lone wolf makes a conversion barrel for a Glock 20 ( I know it's a dirty word )but it will take the abuse from this round .Loaded with a 115 gr bullet it come out of a 5 in bbl at 1800 fps. 125 gr bullet leaving the barrel at better than 1700 fps. It is one hot round.

Yes the 9x25 are too long for most pistols made for 40S&W, that is why I say start with a 10mm pistol to take advantage of the barrel swap.

I have a few rounds loaded myself, 121 grain JHP is 1680 fps from my S&W 1006 5.00" with the Bar-Sto match grade conversion! :)

Sadly Bar-Sto has quit making the conversions for the 3rd gen guns long ago, the 40S&W conversion I bought directly from Bar-Sto but the 9x25 Dillon was purchased from Double Tap (Mike had placed an order with Bar-Sto years back) which was new old stock, it cost me $250, after I fitted the barrel to the slide and frame, I had to have the final reaming of the chamber done which was another few coins. NO excessive ware seen at all but I haven't sent too many thru the barrel as of yet. Maybe 150

Bad_Man_1 from on this forum is in the process of making some barrels for some of the forum members. He is doing four barrels for me, two for the 1006 a 5" 357SIG and a 6" 9x25 Dillon and the 40S&W & 357Sig for the 4.25" to fit the 1076.

Why? Why would you want to take on all the problems of a bottle-neck handgun cartridge when the same platform is available in a cartridge that will out-perform it, the 10 MM?

What problems are you talking about.I have three 357 sig pistols .I've never had a single malfunction with either one No fails to feed ,fail to fire, fail to extract or fail to eject, and all 3 are extremely accurate.Problems ,don't understand what you are talking about:confused:

Many people just hate the 357 Sig, that's the bottom line. I believe it's more hated than the 9mm. Anytime I've ever seen it brought up you have people jumping in saying something that doesn't make much sense. :D

Can you tell me why it's hated?Everyone that I know who has shot one bought one!!!! Including SBI here and HP too

It'd take a good while to list all the reasons I've heard. Too light, too fast, not fast enough, needlessly powerful, not powerful enough, too much blast, too much recoil, stole the mags name, not as good as the magnum, too expensive, too hard to reload, too hard to find, too hard on guns, the .357 mag wasn't very good, etc.

Many of the complaints are things the Sig was never intended. Such as: No it's not as versatile as the mag but you can't stuff a dozen+ mags in a 9mm sized gun. The second part always gets left out but it can't be ignored.

The 357 mag that was 95% one shot stops was a 125 gr jhp at 1450 fps. Factory 357 sig winchester ammo is a 125 gr jhp at 1350 to 1400 fps depending on barrel length.and at$25.00 a box at your local Wal-Mart it is cheaper than 357mag ($36.00 bx).Muzzel blast is less than mag and so is the recoil .As far as reloading goes I have never had any trouble reloading it at all.Sounds to me like you have been listening to a bunch of little wimps not real men that don't mind muzzel blast and recoil.I shoot a S&W M&P compact in 357 SIG ,Probably have close to 1500 rounds through it (some are 95 gr jhp's @1600 fps) and not the first problem and no excessive wear.So next time someone downgrades it tell them to MAN UP and quit whinning.

Depending on the load, the 38 Super isn't much different.

With the right load the super is a great round .I have a Kimber pro carry HDII in 38 super which has a fully supported barrel and it will take some hot loads ..I guess the fact that my uncle started me shooting when I was 14.The revolver was a Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag. We cast our bullets and loaded our ammo.240 gr Keith style bullet over 22 grains of Hercules 2400 powder. Talk about recoil and muzzel blast!.So the recoil and the blast from a 357 sig ,357 mag and a hot super round does not bother me,in fact I rather enjoy it......
