Very nice, like the "bookmarked stocks". Just as a point of interest the PSP never issued a S&W revolver. They used Colts then the Ruger SS Security Six and then to semi autos. I think they chose S&W because perhaps they could not get em from Colt.

Way back in 1979 the MT Hwy Patrol did a commemorative four inch M-66 with the Agency patch and some other inscription on the barrel. We were carrying M-28's at the time.
Unfortunately shipped in the 2 piece box, NO presentation case. I would have liked a nice case to show off the gun.
When was that issued? Do you have a PA SP shoulder patch to display with the gun? The Troopers name is possibly at the bottom of the label...."Minnick"? That could be worth a search. He may have been noteworthy.
PM me with name and address as I have an old style PA State Police patch I picked up years back at a NTC meeting. Would go nice with the gun. I'll drop it in an envelope for you.
I'm not sure to be honest with you, I went to work for the PSP in 1975 as a civilian employee, a fleet mechanic. If I remember right they were issued the Ruger SS Security Six at that time. As the Security Six came on the market in 1972 that move would have been between 72 and 75.They still issued the two inch Colt Detective Special to our plain clothed Detectives if they desired one for quite awhile if I remember right. Don't take this as gospel mind you as my memory at times can be a bit foggy! The PSP academy museum may have a web sight to check out for more info.
