The Williams made their
'Model WGRS Sight for the Springfield 1903A3'
(as well as other applications)
If you search it as just that (for the 1903A3 Springfield) you will probably come up with some for sale. Ebay is a likely source.
They are a very simple straight replacement for the orig unit.
which can be difficult to remove.
The WGRS has a separate base that slips into the dovetail n the recv'r and is locked in position with a set screw.
The rear aperture then slides onto that base and rides on a dovetail lenghtwise that is on a slight incline. That incline for loosen screw/tighten screw elevation adj.
The aperture then has simple loosen screw adjust/tighten screw windage adj as well.
That's the only one of the Williams sites that was a direct replacement. They had others that required the orig be removed and then the new sight mounted on the right side of the rear of the recv'r and requires D&T of two holes the same as a Lyman, Redfield, etc.
SARCO sells this replacement sight that fits the dovetail on the recv'r.
I've never had one in-hand to examine it and I'd guess they are likely an 'import'. I'd question the precision quality at the price.
Probably better off with the original.!
