Oh, I don't know, people around here post signs in the front of their house saying things like Protected by ADT. I guess that's another way of announcing your property is protected.

Not mine, but on my mail route. A neighborhood that backs up to heavy woods, a railroad track, and power line. There are alot of folks driving through there looking around. Lots of UPS package thefts prior to Christmas.

I dont know, I think this goes along the same lines as the people who have "protected by Smith and Wesson" bumper stickers, license plates, have NRA bumper stickers or hats.

It's a way of saying "hey, look at me, I am a gun owner"...

I like the sign in my front yard. That's basically my warning shot...

I am a person that likes to keep my home and truck unassuming. I don't post signs announcing I am a gun owner. My NRA emblem in on the gun safe. I don't own a NRA hat or a Smith & Wesson T-shirt. I have all the boxes my new guns came in. My doors have double dead bolts. If someone wants inside there will be some noise and the dogs will announce their arrival. Our trash collectors would pick-up card board if it is not folded and tied. putting boxes from the new flat screen TV or Xbox etc. just lets the bad guys know who has the good stuff. When I buy stuff and have it delivered I ask the delivery people to take the boxes with them. No hassle with the box in the trash.

Maybe it would scare off some burglers. But I've always felt that was the same as saying........Hey! I got something worth stealing!

I thought I was the only one who spent their Saturdays taking pictures of people's trash!

I spend a great deal of time bashing into people's trash as most folks pile it in front of the mailbox. Occasionally I do photograph things such as classic cars, half naked people, cloud formations, and other odd things.

I always loved seeing the huge speaker manufacturer stickers plastered on cars. Real nice to save thieves time searching.

I think I'd prefer classic cars, half naked people or cloud formations.

You would be surprised how many people will run out to the garage to throw something into the washer or dryer (such as what they are wearing) with the garage door open.
