Compatability Question?

Can the original S&W 469 grips and backstrap be installed on a newer 6906? Like the 6906 but prefer the grips of the older version.

I seem to recall some changes about then, but I think it was to the material and not the shape or size. They had some that were cracking when they were not supposed to due to a problem in the composition of the grip material.
