I just picked up a 6906. It is a little beat up but that is fine. A question though. I would like to put a red dot on it.

I have seen another thread where there is a low rise Optima JPoint mount. When I found the sight where these are sold, there is nothing for a Smith 59/69 series.

Is this something where the Sig or 1911 mount is compatible? I don't want to cut on the slide and it will primarily be a range gun.

Thanks for the heads-up. I found one on eBay. It comes with a Riton red dot. I ordered it.

Here's mine , not a 6906 , but an older 669 . Contact Guzzitaco and talk to him about it . He put a Sig Romeo on it and did his "PC" cuts on the slide .

Picked up two of them, one went on my PC9 slide the other on a spare 5906 slide. Easy to install.

I put the mount on the 6906. It went on easily enough. The one I bought was a kit. It came with a Riton MPRD 2. I did not install it. This was swapped it out with a Sig Romeo Zero off of something else. Not sure when I will get the front sight swapped out.

I had the Sig Romeo Zero on my 6906 for a few weeks; never shot it. Ultimately I didn't like the look of it on the smaller gun. So, took it off and put it on my 5906TSW. It looks much, much more appropriate on the bigger gun running a TLR-1.

Good info. Thanks for this. I have wondered about red dots for one of my 3rd gens for a long time. The eBay one was still in stock. Bought it. I have a Romeo Zero and a couple of other red dots. Thinking about my 6906. My 3913 has factory Novaks. Not messing with perfection, there.
