What would be the best ingredients to my first reload in a 38 spcl.Will be firing out of my S&W 357 3 inch

reloading could be a risky business, if not done with the proper knowlwdge.
So please follow Ivan's advice, and buy a reloading manual, where you will also find all the ingredients for your 38 spl recipe. ;-)

The best ingredient will be a reloading mentor to help you get started.
That being said. Use a powder like trail boss that can easily be seen in the case, a simple 158 lead round nose bullet and the primer of your choice.

As mentioned above find someone who relaods and ask if you can watch/learn from him, then proceed slowly with mild loads and work up from there. Stick with powders that almost fill the case, Unique, Herco etc. so you don't do a double charge, a sure way to ruin your day and your gun.
