I have a lexmark z45 printer I bought about 10 years ago. I have not used it in while so I got a fresh cartridge and installed it. The printer would not run so I put the printer CD in to download the driver. The computer said the driver could not be found. I went to the Lexmark website and found no drivers for my printer. I googled the driver and got sent to websites that claimed to provide free downloads but try to push other software instead. I then let the printer install software on my computer search the web and it claimed to have installed the printer driver. However when I want to print something I get an error message about a script error on the page, no matter what site I am at on the web.

Am I up the creek with this printer? Do I need to buy a new one?

Drat! I will get another printer. Yes, Vista. This makes me think of a line in a Stevie Wonder song, "when you believe in something you don't understand, then you suffer".

figured it was a case of vista strikes again.
its support for printers is so notoriously hideous that several printers made even during the rein of vista will not run with it.
My wifes PC is vista as well, and has a "Vista friendly" printer .... which could be described as buggy .... closer would be annoying. (if I hear honey why dont it work i swear to God ill set it alight)
your printer has a chance of working under windows7 ... certainly under XP if you have such a machine to resurrect. but trying to run under vista ... forget it. don't throw money at a new printer, MS abandoned it
