Have you seen this show? From Wikipedia:

Comrade Detective is an American buddy cop series created by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. The show follows the premise of popular US action/cop-buddy films and television shows from the 1980s and presents the episodes as a fictional lost Romanian television show commissioned by the Communist Party to promote a communist worldview during the Cold War. Every episode was filmed in Romania using local actors and then dubbed into English as part of the effect. It was released on Amazon Video on August 4, 2017.

It really is a hooky detective show, funny really, but it was serious Soviet style propaganda during the cold war. They way they portrayed Americans and capitalism is comical.

If you need a good laugh, it's worth watching. Not for the kiddos, lots of F-bombs. Who knew the Romanians had such potty mouths?

Another good one is Swedish Dicks, starting Peter Stormare and Peter Stetman.
2 swedish PIs in Los Angeles.
An always odd cast of supporting actors.

It‘s so bad, it‘s good. In fact, it‘s hilarious.

I‘m just wondering whether the concept of satire involving Americans producing a fictional Romanian TV show making fun of the East bloc view of America during the Cold War AND of American cop buddy movies at the same time isn‘t a tad too challenging for some of our fellow citizens.

A significant part of the audience is probably going to think this IS actually realistic and a dubbed Romanian show. ;)
