Conceal Carry Own Private Property?

Can you private carry on your own private property without a concealed weapon permit?

You can probably check this out by doing an internet search, but I'd verify w/a call to local law enforcement before actually carrying. You don't want to risk an arrest record that could preclude getting a ccw permit.

Double check your local laws but yes if youre on your property. If you live in a city like Pittsburgh or Philly you'd have to check what constitutes "private property" because some neighborhoods have almost no yards.

Basically in PA open carry is ok without a permit unless youre in Philly (and that one is still debatable)

No way in the People's Republic of NY. You need a hard to get permit just to own/possess a pistol in NYS.

There are basically only 2 permits issued here a CWP (In many counties many judges do put all sorts of restrictions on it, but it still says permit to carry a concealed weapon<crazy, I know>)

The other permit is a possession in your home or business, that is hardly used at all except for NYC. If you have a permit like that you cannot legally take it out of where it is registered to! I have never ever seen one or even talked to anyone that has seen one outside of a NYC resident!

Here in Massachusetts we have two licenses too, Class A for magazines 10 + rounds and Class B for magazine with less than ten rounds. They both say license to carry but you CANNOT carry with the Class B license. You can carry with the Class A provided the chief doesn't restrict your license to target, sporting or employment. I know it doesn't make any sense but that's just the way it is. So we feel your pain.

TN allows for open or concealed carry on your own property without a HCP
(Handgun Carry Permit) or on another persons private property with their permission.

Once you leave though, a HCP is required to have a loaded weapon in your car or on your person.

There has been chatter of the state extending the home rule to your personal vehicle. But I haven't heard anything on it in quite some time.

Not unusual to see folks carrying openly on their property around here. If you
live in the hills like we do, it's a good idea. Mr Copperhead can show up at any time. I've shot two this year from the seat of the tractor while mowing and got another one with the deck blades....

The PA law concerning carrying concealed says you do not need a LTCF (license to carry firearms) in your place of abode or fixed place of business.

Abode is inside your residence or on the physical structure as in porch, etc. In other words, even though you are on your property, you would need the LTCF in your backyard.

In Indiana, no problem. We have a will issue state and also have a lifetime, 1 fee LTCH(License to Carry Handgun). We honor most states, even ones that won't honor ours! Open carry is lawful except at Schools, casinos, and a few others. (need to verify as these things can change). Ours says" Unlimited" but see above info.
Illinois is our next door neighbor, and you should be careful as they don't honor a lot. (As a LEO, unless strayed for a fresh pursuit... you can end up jailed.)

My goodness. If such rash, dangerous, anti social behaviour is allowed in the PRK, then it's probably legal everywhere! (well maybe not the peoples repubs of Mass. or NJ)

Nevada law makes it a "category C felony" to carry "concealed upon his or her person any...Pistol, revolver or other firearm... ." The law makes no provision for any exceptions and; therefore, it is against the law (IMO, IANAL) to do so in one's home, etc. in Nevada.
