I'm thinking about buying the SD9VE and I'm wondering if its small enough for conceal/carry inside the pantsor outside. And is so what holster do yo all recommend? Thanks

Depends on your size. The sd9ve is a 4 inch handgun and if I personally were to conceal carry I'd run with an m&p shield of some caliber. You can run pretty much any glock 19 holster with it.

There are many variables. Your body type, type of clothes you wear, your comfort levels. There are guys who can conceal a shotgun and you'd never know and there are guys who can't conceal a pen gun.. It's too hard to just say yes or no.

It's typically easier to hide a full size gun inside the waist band holsters. It's mostly already being hidden in the pants. This requires a good belt, one specifically for gun carry. It will hold the weight much much better. A quality holster also helps disperse the weight. But you'd need pants with a waist size one or two sizes bigger.

Outside waistband is harder to conceal since it's all outside, so a larger/bigger/longer shirt may be required. I find that it pulls pants down easier.

Then there are places on the body to carry. Small of back, strong side, cross draw, appendix, behind the hip....etc

You'd have to find your own comfort level

I have a SD9VE and a M&P shield, both 9mm. I carry the shield because it's size is more concealable for me. I use either an alien gear 2.0 tuck or a desantis pocket tuk, both are IWB.

I carry my SD40VE almost daily. Unless I'm wearing a pair of pants that are a bit snug then I go with the Ruger LC9S. I carry my SD40VE in a Raw Dog IWB holster with no trouble. I've carried it on vacation from Ohio to Myrtle Beach and back in total comfort while wearing shorts and a t shirt.

The SD9 is big. I easily carry it however in a Kangaroo Carry arm pit type of holster. Once I got over the "man bra" complex instigated by my wife, I'm good with it and carry it almost daily. Other carry gun is a Keltec PF9 in a N82 professional IWB holster.

It's the same size as a glock 19, plenty of people carry a glock 19. I have an SW40VE and I can carry it just fine with iwb holster, but you'll need a good reinforced belt to help with the weight if you carry other stuff like I do.

Stealth gear makes a nice iwb holster

I carry my SD9VE in a Foxx iwb holster with no issues. I always wear t-shirts and it barely prints.

The SD9VE is more the Glock 17 size than the G19.
Not quite in the compact category. But there is no reason you couldn't carry it.
Just be sure to use a decent holster made for it and a good gun belt.

I carried my SD9VE until I picked up a Shield. I only carry OWB, as I was never comfortable carrying IWB. But a good, well made pancake holster and a heavy Leather belt makes for an easy carry for me. I'm 5' 10" regular build @ 186 lbs. Even with a t-shirt you couldn't tell I was carrying. As mentioned above, there are a LOT of variables, all you can do is try a few and see what works FOR YOU :-)

I carry my SD40 or 9 in a Clinger Atom holster, no problem. At work I carry it under my chefs coat with no problem. When I'm not working I use a bulldog OWB holster and cover it with a loose shirt. If I reach high for something the barrel will become visible, if I'm working on my car or moving around quickly I'm sure it's noticable but for average walking, shopping and daily activity it works fine. I also have an M&P Shield but prefer the SD's for carrying.

Conceals as well as a Glock 19 ... And is able to use most Glock 19 holsters .....and the 19 is one of the most popular carry pistols in tbe world ..

I used to carry my P229 .357 AIWB in a Galco Summer Comfort.
My SD9VE will fit the same holster even though it's a loose fit.
Being curious about the Kydex hype, I decided to make one for the SD9VE.

That was my first attempt and I overheated the Kydex that's why it's shiny and a bit short at the muzzle end. I didn't want to scrap the material and molded it anyways. Added some leather on the body side and it's super comfortable. I carry it AIWB and at about 3:30.

With Cold weather approaching, my SD9 VE will be riding in an OY6 OWB holster. Once that hot Oklahoma summer hits though, its going IWB. Not sure what holster I will run then.

I carried a G23 for many years. Now I carry and Shield and glad for it (small & comfortable) with just about any OWB/IWB.

The SD9VE is extremely close in both size and weight of the Glock 19. Beside my son-in-law's Gen 3 Glock 19, you would be amazed at how close they are.

I carry my SD40 in a clinger atom holster, it's a kydex IWB holster I bought on line. A simple search on Google will take you to their website. I have an M&P Shield but I prefer the SD's. I also carry it in a simple leather bulldog holster OWB when I wear a loose jacket.
