There's a lot of things there that can't happen so it's not in the news.

1) guns are bad. They only kill innocents.
2) the initial shooter should be a victim....of something. No scratch that, he is a victim so he clearly could not have done this.
3) bars are shady places
4) guns are bad.

We did see this local story here. I'm guessing it did not get the attention it would have gotten elsewhere because crime in Spartanburg is frequent and CC holders in SC shooting bad guys is becoming a regular occurrence.

To be fair, I read this on a national-media outlet yesterday. Can't remember which one, but it was titled the same.

I read the story yesterday. It should appear in the AR column in a few months. This incident indicates what value a good guy with a gun is, which is why we have concealed carry. We had an incident in my city last year, a number of people pulled off an armed robbery at Academy Sports. As they were running out of the store with a number of long guns, an armed citizen tried to stop them. They dropped all the long guns and were later caught. Not as dramatic as the SC incident, but these things happen every day. The NRA magazines are where we read about them, not in the national, liberal, media.

I thought about posting this story last night. Glad you did. This is second news item that I noticed this week where an armed citizen intervened in criminal actions.

As someone else notes, this happened down around Lyman, South Carolina...a small town of less than 4,000 people.

The national media isn't going to fall all over themselves covering this, simply because it's basically just another small-town-drunk-in-a-bar type of shooting.

I'm betting there'll be similar incidents all over the country during the 4th of July holiday weekend.

I think it rated maybe a 60-second blip on local news here where I live.
