Do you think people don't know what a skunk is when they see it?
The porcupine is open carry then the skunk is that dude that dresses head to foot and 5.11 tactical gear while he's wearing an NRA hat and the molon lobby t-shirt and thinks he's concealed carrying
I don't know if you've ever been around a skunk in the wild but they stink even before they spray.
Porcupines and skunks actually behave very similarly. They basically ignore everybody around them and go about their business.
I've never seen an aggressive porcupine and the only aggressive skunk I ever saw was rabid

Wearing tactical clothing, or putting pro-gun bumper stickers on your car, or putting a sign that says "Protected by Smith and Wesson" on your front lawn, all give away whatever element of surprise that concealed carry offers. Long ago I subscribed to the concept of the "gray man", believing it is to my advantage to be as invisible, and unthreatening as possible in my appearance while ALWAYS doing my best to be situationally aware. I don't get immersed in my phone while walking to my car in a parking lot, nor appearing to be enfeebled and thus an easy target. And I don't own a fake badge that says "Licensed Concealed Carry" or some other useless foolishness.

Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs is full of skunks. Or it was when I was working for G4S.
There was one section of the cemetery where I had to go check the fence line but there were no Graves there. I was looking for homeless camps.
My wife worked at a food bank at the time and she would bring home fruit that was going bad and I would take it out in the empty part of the cemetery and just leave it for the skunks.
