Here are a few cockpit vids of a BA Concord.
I used to run one on the sim. To me, it was by far the most
complicated airliner I ever flew on a sim. And of course, still
not quite the same as the real deal.
You have to constantly shift fuel around for balance, and a
pretty strict climb and descent regime as far as speeds, etc.
You really fly those things by the numbers. Also changes in
high altitude air temps would really effect the power and performance
of the engines. The warmer the air, the less power naturally.
Never flew in a real one, and sure I never will now that they are retired.
Those planes were unique in that they could fly supersonic with no
afterburners kicked in once at cruise. They were a "speedbird"
that really lived up to the ATC name.. :/
I also had a SR-71 set up a few years ago. I used to outrun the sun in
that thing. I remember I once flew around the world from Paris to Paris
in about 16 hours if I remember right and am not confusing it with the
Concorde. I think I was going west too which takes a bit longer due to
going in the same direction as the Earths rotation. In the SR-71 you are
going faster than the rotation, and can outrun the sun.
But I don't have either one of them going now on the current sim I'm
using.
