Confidence in my .40 Shield

I try not to think about it when shooting mine. The chances of it happening seem to be a very low percentage compared to how many people own the 40 shield. If it bothered me enough to second guess the pistol, I would just sell it and get the 9mm.

This logic sounds reasonable on paper, but isn't always true in the real world. I've seen plenty of shooters, novice to experienced, that shoot the larger calibers better. I can't explain it to you, but I have seen it.

So, initially I would start with exactly what you said; operating on the premiss that a new shooter will do better with a lighter caliber. Then I'll expose them to different calibers and see what they shoot best. Nothing is set in stone.
