Confused

I have a 3.5" 27 4 screw that has target trigger and target hammer, plus white outline and red ramp front. Gun is about 96%.

According to SC of S&W 3rd Edition, gun dates to about 1959. SN 199XXX.

I may try to letter the gun, but at my age, can't tell if I'll still be here when letter is done.

Question is this: was any of the above available for this gun in 1959?

All of those features were available at that time but are rarely seen as original. Odds are they were fitted at a later date by an owner who wished to upgrade his older gun to a more contemporary configuration. I have several such revolvers in my collection.
