IMO: It's time for the NRA to go on the offensive. A good example is the Heritage Firearms Act:

H.R.3054 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): Veterans' Heritage Firearms Act of 2017 | Congress.gov | Library of Congress

I'd like to hear the most virulent anti-gunner in Congress argue against an act that REQUIRES the registration of additional firearms already in private circulation.

Lets stick it to them for a change!

Oh and BTW: I emailed the NRA with this very question and received no response!

H.R. 3054 was introduced two years ago yesterday. It went to committee eighteen days later, and it's apparently sat there ever since.

Until it goes through all the appropriate committees, passes in the House, then goes to the Senate and all its committees, this bill isn't even a blip on anyone's radar.

The identical Senate bill, S.1435 was introduced on the very same day, June 26, 2017. It went to committee that day, and remains stuck there two years later. This bill isn't on anyone's radar, either.

I'll go out on a limb here and say neither of these bills are going anywhere until after January of 2021. Maybe.

Because why the hell would we want to register firearms, or round up war trophies from veterans, put them in the first museum that asks for them, and destroy whatever's left after five years?
