Considering a 5.7x28

Looking for some advice from someone with experience with the 5.7x28? At the moment I haven't decided which one to buy. Watching the review videos on U-Tube (FN, Ruger, PSA, S&W, Tisas) so far I'm liking the Smith. I've only got hands on experience with the PSA Rock, price is supper attractive but the trigger is terrible. Clean break but at 8 plus pounds, no thanks.

I'll show you mine, if you show me yours...no recommendations as the video is old, pre- 5.7 X 28 revival. I enjoy my Five-seveN but it was NOT designed for suppressors. Subsonic ammo doesn't cycle in mine. The video is of my PS90, which does cycle subsonic ammo. I have had an occasional FTF:

It's a very fun cartridge to shoot. I bought the S&W Whateverthey'recallingit to try out the Tempo system, which is nifty so far. But I like the cartridge itself more than I thought I would. But, I'm not very picky.

I have the ruger version, and aside from it being ammo picky during break in, it's a fun gun to shoot. I don't really see it having much use other than fun, and training beginners on a light recoiling centerline cartridge. It is a fun cartridge, I just don't see it making much sense for anything else.

P.s. if you go with the ruger like I did, and don't read the instruction manual, the take down lever will fight with going back into place unless the barrel is in the proper position. Once you figure out where the barrel needs to be it's easy, but it will fight you until you get everything positioned properly.

The FN and S&W have large grips. If you have small hands (like I do) that should be a consideration.

I tried the FN and it was too big. The Ruger has 1911 ergonomics and I liked it a great deal. When I tried the PSA Rock, I sold the Ruger and kept the PSA.

I have a PS90 SBR and its a great little package. Surprisingly quiet to be shooting a supersonic round. I shot a groundhog several years ago. Barely could find the entry and exit wounds, but it felt like it broke every bone in it.

Only downside is that ammo is expensive. I bought most of my stash when it was $17 per box of 50.

If you reload or are thinking about reloading the 5.7x28, the S&W M&P is the only choice. Their Tempo system does not care if the cases have the lacquer or not.

I can’t speak for other 5.7x28’s but I really like my M&P 5.7. Great shooter, stock trigger is pretty good. I haven’t shot it enough yet to see where it falls in favorites to shoot, but it is up there.

Like others have said, it is a fun cartridge to shoot. I have a PS90 and a Five Seven. I have shot a P90 the way it was meant to be shot, the 5.7x28 really shines then.

I have an FN. It's a neat round, but I'm still on the fence.
Should I sell it, or go all in and pair it with a SUB2K, and go down the holster and magazine rabbit hole?

So far I've only bought too much ammo for it.

Trigger is OK, grip a little large. 20 rds on tap is nice, especially considering the weight, loaded.

It's loud. And I don't buy the "it's just a .22 mag" argument.

How was the trigger on the PSA? The one I shot had worst trigger I ever tried.

I have the FN... It is a fun shooter...no problems with it, don't have the threaded barrel...large grip and pretty much no aftermarket anything..For the overall price of pistol and ammo it adds to an already pricy hobby
