Does anyone know someone or a shop that converts a stainless steel .357 barrel to a .44 Special? I don't have any idea for who does that kind of work or the cost to have it done. For that matter if it's even practical to do.

Thanks, Ken

Delta Gun Shop/Clearwater Reboring does handgun barrels.
A couple of the top handgun custom gunsmiths use Jim DuBell there for this service. He's done a couple for me and they are top notch.

Classic Barrel Works doesn't adv. handgun barrel work but a quick email will settle that. They do custom handgun work so perhaps they do.
Dan Peterson is the owner/gunsmith and he has an excellent reputation for his work.

Reboring/rerifling is a common way to get the barrel you want when converting revolvers to larger calibers.
There are limits due to existing barrel diameter of course,,but a rebore from 357 to 44sp is a common conversion on S&W N frames.

Be ready to wait in most cases for the completed work to arrive. Backlogs of 6mo to a year are not uncommon for the few 'smiths that still do this type of work.

Another is J.E.S. Rifle Reboring. Here's his website. Looks like rifles are a specialty but you never know. I don't see an email for him either.
He's usually on one of the rifle forums (Marlin?) answering questions, etc.
