What am I missing here? ;) A "tactical" flashlight on a .22 rifle is used for what?

Nasty nasty little vermin at night maybe.
I know several people who have used tactical lights and laser sights on .22's to shoot small pests (like skunks) at night.
And if you don't have a short barreled 12ga or 1911 handy it would make a 15-22 easier to use for greeting "uninvited guests" after dark.

PS I forgot to add you should be aware that most of the better lights like that use 2 or 3 batteries that look like a short version of a AA battery (CR-302 I think).
They are not hard to find (Home Depot has them) but they are not cheap and retail for nearly $5 each.

Fixed. ;)

Aside from the mil-sim perspective of dressing up our 15-22's to look like the latest 'Tier 1 weapon', many people specifically buy these rifles because of their 1:1 manual of arms with the M4 for training purposes. ...and good training means using the rifle in low-light or no-light training conditions.

Besides, zombies are nocturnal too! :D

If you really need a flashlight for your application you can get by cheaper by going to Walmart and buying a set of 1 inch scope rings. They are less than $10. Now go to Home Depot or Lowe's. They sell these "tactical" flash lights that are 105 lumens for $50. Put your flashlight into the scope ring and now you are "tactical" for $60.

...well you see at night its hard to see...soooooo they invented this cool thing called a flash light....it allows you to see in the dark!...I know..sounds impossible......but its true!!...you can actually see at night with it!....

...sarcasm aside.....I love shooting at night and couldnt imagine having to do so without my lights, regardless of weapon.

You thinking of CR123's? Sometimes you can buy the Surefire brand ones cheaper online, less than two bucks apiece.

Thanks, I guess I'm going to have to look around a bit more.
I just was in Home Depot the other day and noticed them hanging near the regester.
Then when I saw they wanted two for almost $10 I thought, '**** isn't that always the way.'
Ya find a good item that's relatively inexpensive, but it needs a ton of bucks to keep working'.

A 250 lumen flashlight will help with raccoons and zombies, very functional. That sight is definitely a good idea but I preffer a flashlight so I can see what the laser is marking.

The ulzio does have a strobe function. But that laser genetics is so cool I pooped a little. Should have warned me, I'm still at work

is there a nice flashlight with a strobe function for a good price?

Why strobe function? Because I saw Kick *** one time too much and I like it :)

Streamlight has a weapon mounted one plus several handheld ones that can be mounted that have a momentary strobe. Lots of china-lights have strobe settings as well.

I bought a NcStar flashlight with quick mount on it. It's very bright, takes one CR123 battery. I bought mine to go frogging with.:D

Im not convinced short of the maelstrom (a very good light) the lower price options sacrifice considerable output. the Ulzio T-1 Ultrabright will be my next buy. 250 lumen, 3 settings water proof, shock resistant, comes with pressure switch, light, mount everything you need for like $80. Ill let you know how well it does when it gets here.
