Just purchased a few boxes on the Corbon 38 Spl +P 110 gr JHP from Bud’s.

Have not had a chance to shoot any.

Any have experiences with this round? Muzzle blast? Do they use a low flash powder? They claim 1,050 FPS from a 2 inch barrel. Seems pretty close to the old Treasury round 38 Spl +P+ 110 gr velocity but using a more effective bullet.

Appreciate your inputs.

Thank you all

I’ve tried several brands of 110 +P, but not Corbon, in my 340PD. What I found is it’s pretty easy to control, especially follow-up shots, in this light revolver and it’s accurate out to ten yards. I’m currently using Remington HTP 110 grain +P in my 340PD.

Over the years that FPS has gone up and down and it depends on the Lot #, to see what your weapon will put out.

If you don't like them, you might try out a box of their new DPX all copper bullets.

It does well in Summer conditions, where light clothing is worn.

Pop a few water jugs and see what turns out.
I found out that a good FPS is needed and if the test meets your standards.

Good shooting.

The original Cor-Bon 38 Special loads were hot, so hot that they were not intended for J-frame revolvers. Cor-Bon downloaded their ammo to be safe and usable in J-frames many years ago.

It has been a while since I fired some 110 JHP through my M49 snub nose but I got out Friday and put a few through the revolver at the indoor range.

Started out with a light load at 880 that was close to a standard loading, that did pretty good.

Then moved up to a +P loading that does around 950fps and this load was close to POA and gave a off hand 5-6" group at twenty feet.

I developed a full load for this weapon that is like a Corbon load with a Winchester 110 JHP design bullet with a lead tip area and fired five of these to recheck how they felt and did on target.
These loads do around 996fps out of the little 1 7/8" barrel and actually have more recoil than a +P 125 factory loading but this load came through with flying colors with a group that was only 1/2" off of my POA and group that could be covered by a tennis ball.

It does add another log on the fire as to what load is best for the snub nose for a SD load.
