I took these pictures today near Unadilla, GA, about 130-140 miles South of Atlanta on I-75. Some of the fields are probably visible from 75. A lot of water was pumped to make a crop like that. From where I pulled off the road, I could see a half-dozen center-pivot systems, not large systems, but four or five towers each. I would just guess the well-head pictured supplies all the systems in that group, maybe two at the time. Somebody burned a lot of expensive diesel fuel this Summer. I hope they had a good contract. I believe that farmers could have contracted futures at close to $2.00 per lb at planting time. Prices now are a little less than $1.00.

redlevel, that does bring back memories, but not good ones. My grandfather farmed and he planted cotton. I hauled around a tote sack for a lot of years with my grandfather, father and uncles. Memories yes, but the memories are better than the time spent in those fields.

Here too - We're surrounded by King Cotton this year -- I'm always surprised by how much is left when they're finished picking.

It looks like you've got photographic evidence of a UFO in the first picture.
