Woke up this morning and Miami Vice was on, looked in my wallet and found extra $550 then remembered there was a 4506 for $399 at the gun store last Saturday. Hmmmmmm. Might take an extra long lunch hour today!:)

1. I love Miami Vice.

2. The 4506 is one of the few semiautos I would own.

3. How the hell do you have an extra $550 in your wallet? How much money do you usually carry? You must not be married. :D

I sold off all my AR's (except for M&P 15-22) then found a bunch of AR spare parts (uppers and barrels) in the gun room. So I sold the parts yesterday and now the money is burning a hole in my pocket. The 4506 had a polished slide (which I dont like) and standard rear sight (not Novak). Hope its still there today. If not, they have a bunch of 2nd Gen "6906 type" (forget the model #) pistols in stock. I bought a very nice 3913 from them a few weeks ago. Also heard they had some 38 spl Smith revolvers (police trade in's) in stock also. Hope to come home with something.

Outstanding. I unloaded (no pun intended) a 20ga coach gun this past weekend and picked up a Model 10-6.

Cool. After ditching the Glocks, Sigs and Beretta, I wont buy any handgun unless it has S&W on the side and also must have a metal frame, no more plastic! Counting down the minutes till lunch!

Sadly the 4506 was gone. There were a few 659's but they were right at $400 and a little rough at that price for me. However there were several 64 and 65 smith revolvers starting at $219 up to $300. The gun shop was packed full and after 30 minutes of waiting I had to head back to work. Hopefully it will be less crowded tommorrow!

That's a sad day.... But how many times have we ALL done that? You look at something and decide to think about it, maybe do some research, whatever...and when you go back or call..it's gone! It happened to me twice in July...so when I saw a nice 6946, after years of regret in selling my 6906, I pounced on it! Glad I did! Just wait for the next good deal and grab it! I'd have passed on the 659's too....

I think I'll try to pick up one of the $219 revolvers and the save the rest of my money for , as you said "the next good deal"!

Went back today and picked up a 65-3 .357 Smith for $250 with new Hoage grips. Super smooth trigger, its not a 4506 but it's a Smith!

4506's & M65's

Very nice score on the revo. You probably wanted a 4506 with the Novaks and a slide that you wouldn't have to strip down and bead blast anyway. Keep looking, they're out there. But, I have noticed a spike in price on the 10XX and 45XX models lately. I bought a 4506 awhile back, from another member, for $550. That was about my personal top end for one, but it is a sweet gun.

Wow Swabby, love that tuo-tone 45, was that factory or a refinished lower/frame? Would really like a 4566 or 1066 . I still have quit a bit of 10mm ammo left over from my Delta Elite (sadly traded for a new Sig 226 14 years ago). But a 4506 is on my list!

My 4506 has an aftermarket finish on the frame, which was professionally applied before I bought it. I bead blasted the slide and installed the Trijicons. The stainless finished mag also had a badge or other ID number engraved on it. Don't remember, maybe it was the last digits in the serial #. Anyway, the hardest part of the whole project was stoning, then sanding, then scothbriting, then bead blasting the mag housing to get the engraing off of there. Took about 1/3 of a day to get it blended and to look good. Now, you can't even tell it was engraved. But, see why I spent top dollar on her. She is a sweetie.

410 bore=They do have more for $250, my buddy picked up a 3" barrel one today but he didnt say if it was a 38 or 357 as they had many different models to choose from. Swabby= sweet gun, was gonna ask about the sights but you already answered that. Blujax01= Wild day today, started to leave to do a carpet removal job for a store next to my wifes store. Forgot my 3913 ontop of the TV, done had my dirty work boots on so I didnt go back in the house to get it. Opened up the gun room and picked up the 65 and grabbed some .357 ammo and loaded her up. Went to work and noticed a strange creepy dude walking up and down the strip mall. Wife was really creeped out and called me. I have a CCW permit but no holster for it yet so i left it the Tahoe which was 5 steps away. Later saw the guy across the street walking in front of the bank. 30 minutes latter the girl that owns the store on the other side of where I was working came running over saying the bank was just robbed , her mom works at the police station and called to check on her. Stood by the Tahoe within arms reach of the Smith but saw nothing. About 90 seconds later every kind of police arrive. Later I gave a statement to police, still havent caught the guy. Just felt better having the Smith with me today!
