Could use some prayer!

Prayers sent. May your dad's final days, whenever they may be, be pain free. He sounds like a man I would have enjoyed knowing.

Thanks to all you good folks for all the prayers. Going to see him this coming weekend. Wish he lived a little closer and wishing I had made the effort to visit him more in the past. Life gets in the way sometime and makes things seem not quite as important as they should be. Thanks again for the prayers!

Thank you for the reminder, as my Mother is still alive and approaching 80. She's about a 3 hour drive from me and I have also let life get in the way of making that trip more often than I should. Prayers sent for you and your Dad. I hope that you have a nice visit with him and that you both have a fantastic time together. I can think of many things right now that I wish I had asked my Dad before he passed unexpectedly many years ago. Tell him what you told us about what he has done for you. He sounds like a great Dad.

Sorry for the late reply

My father passed away on Sunday the 30th of October and was buried on Thursday in Texas Veterans cemetery in Killeen Tx. His last days were uneventful. Wish I could say he passed in his sleep but that was not to be. It did happen fairly quick though and I think fairly painless. He was having trouble breathing so they went to the hospital and within 15 minutes he was gone. Respiratory distress, Blood clot in the lungs.

I would like to take this time to thank the fine folks on this site for all the prayers given over the past month. I am convinced the man above heard and understood your pleas.

As I get older I see this happen and it always causes heartbreak. I believe your father made the right decision. There's a special place in heaven for him and he'll continue to look down on his family. I pray that his passing is painless and pray for you and your family.

I'll gladly offer up prayers for You and your Father.
I know how you feel. My Dad has been having serious issues for a few years so I know where you are coming from.
I pray he goes peacefully and Your family is comforted in knowing he led a good life and spend eternity with Our Lord.
God bless you all.

I am very sorry about your father passing. My condolences to you and your family. Sending prayers for healing and comfort.

I'm glad that he is able to make up his own mind.....

......and accept it serenely. I believe he made a wise choice that will ultimately be less painful not only for himself but for those around him. The passing of a close relative is hard anytime, but putting off the inevitable for a short time with drastic measures seems in many cases to do more harm than good. My Mom was also 85 in stage four lung cancer, my father was 89. Both of them had a good run and it was never going to be the same as it was. We had to accept that life was over for them and to try to fight that would ultimately hurt more.

I pray for your father, for you and for your entire family in this time of pain and bereavement.
