Due to zoning laws I believe powder comes from one warehouse and primers from another, Some reason they can not keep them together where they are located. Reason for 2 haz mat fees if ordered together.

I don't think that's true. (at least in MO) I have picked up both powder and primers from Midway and Graf's multiple times and they both come from the same building at each location.

Shipping (and handling) from any Internet vender has always been just a little less confusing tha cold fusion. Example..MidwayUSA compact range bag. Shipping cost $10.95. I guess for the size & weight that's OK. Plus it's a good bag and great price. Fiber optic front sight from Dawson Presion $7.25 for S&H. Huh? What's the size & weight for a FO front sight. I guess you have to take everything into consideration when buying over the net.
1. Availability of product
2. Price of product
3. Return policy
4. Customer service
5. Do you have to pay sales tax? If I bought something in my state I'd pay $6.85 for a $100 order. No tax on buying on the net
6. Gas money. It may cost you $5-$10 just to drive back and forth to the store.
All in all Internet shopping is still a very good thing for choices, price & ease of shopping for a lot of things we didn't have access to before.

All hobbies suffer the same shipping problems from their big suppliers. Last year I bought two archery gloves from 3 Rivers Archery and the cost was $76 for both. They charge shipping by dollar amount so I paid $9.95 to have them shipped to me and they came in a small envelope and weighed less than two ounces! But you can't buy these gloves from anyone else. ARGHHH.

I also just paid $8 to have two antique oil lamp wicks shipped to me for my antique Rayo lamp and they also came in an envelope but where can you go and just buy stuff like that?

I love doing business with Midway. They've never screwed up or cancelled a shipment of mine. They're just down hw 70 from St. Louis so I usually get next day delivery. Of course I live in Missouri so I have to pay taxes. :p

Have you tried iammo?

Terry Rush at iammo has been good for me. www.iammo.com.

Don't you just LOVE the TV commercials where you "Buy one and get the second one free! Just pay separate shipping and handling."

There really isn't any such creature as free shipping. It a marketing ploy, hidden in the price of the product and called "free". Covertly or overtly, the buyer is paying for shipping.

I have ordered from Midway for years with very little issues,My only beef with them is lots of items are out of stock ,As far as shipping if you have shipped anything you should know that shipping is way more $ than it once was.

What does it cost you to go to the UPS store and ship something???? I use a lot of USPS Flat rate, small, med, large= rounded off $5, $11, $15. That's with ME packing it.

I've had that conversation a few times over the years with my sister, who runs a small business that sells stuff both through Amazon and direct via the internet.

Companies that ship stuff every day via UPS *don't* go to the UPS store to ship stuff. The UPS "guy" comes to the business every day at about the same time to make deliveries and pick up the outgoing shipments. Also, UPS provides software to automate the creation of the shipping paperwork and label.

She doesn't use USPS at all, even though the rates are lower on the flat rate boxes. If she pulls the shipping guy out and has him drive across town to the post office with 6 packages, and has him wait in line to mail them, and then has him drive back to the office, the total cost is hugely more expensive than using UPS.

I don't get it. Not a week goes by without threads or posts about "I HATE MIDWAY".... "But I ordered from them again. Their service or terms are terrible!"

Some kinda remind me of Jeffery Dahmer pleading "Stop me before I kill again."

Generally speaking... if I don't like a seller (on-line or walk-in) I don't shop there. I either go elsewhere of don't buy at all. Life's too short.

I shop around before buying. Midway often has the best delivered price, but it requires using a discount code, special sale or free shipping code. I just bought $150 worth of stuff with free shipping. I wish I had needed more range bags or rifle cases because they were on sale and shipping is so high on those items. Unusual for Midway to include sale items in free shipping. I think the gun business must be slowing down.
