I just got these two pairs of Diamond K frame grips on Craigslist. The seller said the square bottom ones (serial # 316494) on the right was 1958, the left ones ( #408120).1961. Hope I didn’t get that reversed. While one set is pictured on my 19-4 I intend to put one pair on my 1962 18-2 and the other on my 1955ish pre model 10. Will they be correct for those guns and was he correct about their vintage? He threw in those chipped N frames. Cost was $80. Your expertise is much appreciated.

Can't see the stamped numbers, if you could tell us what they are we can confirm their ages.

The PC bottom ones look modified to my eyes.
Like they were sanded to that configuration.
The square bottom look older to me, with their sharper shoulders.

The rounded bottom set came on C 408120, and the flat set K 316494. Someone here with the SN reference table can let you know their ages.

Don't think so. I have some PC grips that look exactly like that. They are from the 50s and have a different look than later PC grips.

According to my book one pair is ‘57 and the other 1960
Do you mean the pair on the left with rounded edges is ‘57 and the flat bottom pair on the right is 1960, or Vice versa? That’s probably a dumb question but I don’t know if the grips came off different model guns where the higher serial # grips might be from a different, and earlier model gun.

No, C prefix is older than K prefix. So it's not just about the number.

No, the opposite years quoted.

Thanks, didn’t know the early ones were different.
Love this place for all the knowledge.

Another question…..shouldn’t the sharper shoulder ones be earlier production?

Very close. In my collection, I have a Pre M45 M&P 22, commonly known as a Post Office model. It is # C407568, and was shipped 6-58. It has the numbered to the gun, PC Magnas. That should give you an idea of the date on your PC Magnas. Big Larry
