Today I was informed that my address and name is being used on a Craigslist housing rental scam. I found the link for the original posting, and now I'm not sure what to do beyond that. Any advice?

Contact Craig's list and get the listing taken down. If s fraud is committed and your address is involved you will be answering questions from the police.

Thank you everyone that helped. I greatly appreciate it, I guess next question would be how they got my full name. The person who brought the listing to my attention got an "application" from them and it had my name on it.

Yes! Post a link.
How did you find out about this?
Oddly enough someone actually did their homework and found me via social media and let me know about it. The poster kept asking for a security deposit when they inquired to see the house.

Louisville CL autos for sale is full of scams but most are as transparent as the Nigerian prince email. Here is a link to one that fooled me. I called the # and no ans, just a recording saying mailbox wasn't set up. I hung up.

About 20 minutes later I get a call asking "did you call this #?"

I asked if they had a car for sale. We chatted a couple minutes and the answers weren't right for a 1-owner car so I said I'll think about it. Click w/out even saying goodbye.

2001 Toyota Land Cruiser low miles excellent condition 4+4 - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive sale

I'd take 2 of these
2012 Ford F-250 4x4 Light bar Bed liner - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive sale

and a couple of these ;)
Sport utility vehicle w/ 4 Wheel Drive and Many Functions/Options - N - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive sale

A few ago a guy Here in town bought BMW ragtop on Craigslist.
I say (yell) you did what?
Even if he is a lawyer, no reason for him to get fleeced.
He replies, calm down!
I bought it from the Mercedes dealer in Lubbock.

Do your Due diligence when buying on Craigslist. I bought my '74 MG Midget from Craigslist in Phoenix when I was there on vacation. No problems, checked out the neighborhood of the address, was good. Had my step-son go with, paid cash and drove the car away with clear title in hand. But...... try to sell on CL, I got so many scammers when I listed a Harley for sale it was crazy. Fortunately I knew their game.

I have bought and a number of things on Craig's including real estate.
The scammers are usually easy to spot.
The craziest responses I have gotten was when I posted free stuff.
If was on a property in the East Mountains and apparently they wanted the stuff but didn't want to drive out and pick it up.
