Phil was justifiably proud of his nickname 'crazyphil' which he said his wife gave him. He was instrumental in supporting the holster reference book "Holstory' and in promoting it here, too. He got the first copy from Witty and me, because we knew he would be the one person who would appreciate it most. Heaven is better off to have him.

Thoughts and Prayers for Phil and his family.

I bought a nice Solingen steel knife from him last year. He said it was his first Bowie knife and had it for over 60 years. He replaced its broken handle with part of an Axe handle. The handle had some wood putty filled holes covered with skateboard tape on its sides that made it kind of homely.

I liked the feel of it, so instead of replacing Phil's work, I wrapped it in cord. It's a light knife that feels great and doesn't look too terrible.

RIP. Condolences to his family and friends.

Glad I had a chance to buy a couple of holsters he sold two or three years ago.
