I know that actor Thomas Gibson, who played SSA Aaron Hotchner, was fired from, Criminal Minds for kicking a writer.

I missed the episode this week. Did they ever explain what became of Hotchner on the show?

He probably didn't kick the writer hard enough. Anyone know where he kicked the writer (they didn't tell us man or woman.) The PC crowd will tell you its never justified. I'm not so sure.

Actually, I believe that a lot more writers of television and movies deserve to be kicked... by the viewers, for the quality of the tripe they write.

I guess writing must be a lot harder than I think, so few are any good at it. Writing is the heart of any good movie or TV show.

TV seemed so much better when I was younger, but now I think it just seemed that way because my expectations were so low. I actually never even stopped to realize, for example, that Captain Kangaroo was neither a captain nor a kangaroo.

He was nonetheless the most credible of the cast as an FBI agent. Only Rossi is otherwise convincing, among the male agents. The females, apart from the fat computer tech flake, are more plausible.

Someone above said that writing must be hard. Well, it is, even if you have a gift for it. Having published about 5,000 magazine and newspaper articles, I can tell you, it's harder than it looks to most people. And you need photographic skills if you write for gun and similar titles.

When he was about 14, my son met the very gifted novelist David Lindsey. Geoff asked Lindsey if writing is easy . The writer thought briefly and then said., "No, not easy. In fact, it's quite difficult."

I'm writing a novel and can tell you, it's much harder than writing articles. Articles are basically a series of facts that you string together. Creative writing is wholly from the imagination, although real places and facts may be included. It's challenging, but when done well, gives enormous satisfaction.

Most T V writers have certain backgrounds that affect their outlook and the shows force them to have PC attitudes, even if they might not, otherwise. Add the frequently ridiculous characters, and you often have a mess.

I suspect that the writer who was kicked by Thos. Gibson was a jerk. And a lot of ego was probably involved, maybe on both sides. Neither writers or actors are widely known for modesty.
