Got this in the mail today. I've been wanting one of these for lil while now.
Gotta get used to the deployment action.

Looking at CRKT Hissatsu next, if this Heiho holds up for awhile.

Anybody else have one or experience with one?

Don't have this model, but I do own a few CRKT knives. They're very serviceable, feel good in my hand and have held up to anything I've done. I don't think you'll be sorry.

The outburst assist got the heevho on Heiho. I didn't like it and it wasn't worth a ****. Functions flawlessly now as a manual open.

Just ordered this one today.

What do you dislike about the Outburst assist? I have only tried one assisted CRKT (Ignitor); the assist required some odd pressure on the thumb stud in order to release the blade, but I don't know if that was the Outburst feature or something else. In any event, my stepson loves that knife.

This one had the weird pressure point too. Wasn't functioning correctly. Removed the tiny screw and bar... And now it's a smooth manual (legal almost anywhere I go).

Alright fellas i've kind of fallen behind on my Knife
studies. I have a few older knives in my stash somewhere.
Marbles, Cold Steel etc...
But i haven't kept up on the scene.
What's the story on these CRKT knives and how are they
price wise?
Are these Japanese made?
I saw the characters on the OP's knife on first post.

Chuck

CRKT = Columbia River Knife and Tool.
And this particular knife is Chinese steel.

Youtube = hours of enjoyment for me looking at knife reviews.

I usually buy knives like the - Boker AK 74, S&W, & Lightning out the front knives.
This CRKT is my nicest knife (not most expensive, but nicest).

I'm not a collector, (although some would question that when they see the pile of knives I've accumulated over the years), I don't buy a knife I can't use every day. It's a tool, not Wedgewood china. The CRKT's I've got have held up so far. That said, my EDC choice has been Spyderco. Carried a Delica many years. Just recently upgraded to an Endura. YMMV.
