handmade ("Handarbeit") from Harry Maacken, a german master shoemaker. He was very interested in US- / Western History and guns. There was a time when he was the man, who built the holsters for the Korth revolvers...
He died (71 years old) in 2006. Rest In Peace, Harry !

IMHO a very, very well made, beautiful holster with an interesting thumb snap design:
Even with the "free hammerspur" the hammer and rear sight are so embedded in the holster, that nothing interfere with the clothing and if you open the thumb snap you can rest your thumb on the hammerspur whilst drawing, so the hammer can not hang up in the clothing.

with M 29-2 + Farrant's in

backside (M 29 with Hogue Rosewood)

2x Hogue + other stuff

Even without "Dog Ears" -in this forum trademarked to crazyphil- the rear sight is well
protected

a bit S&W Blue(s) M 29-2 + Farrant Rosewood Combat Stocks

and here is the "Story of the Farrant's"
Rosewood N-Frame Combat Stocks...real Farrant's... or...?

Yes the retention strap does the job of the hammer protector, but maybe
not quite as quick a draw. Nice looking gun, holster, etc.

Phil, thanks for your kindly comments. Of course you are right: The Cross Draw
especially with a thumb or otherwise retention strap (I normaly prefer a well
molded holster without such things, but I saw this slightly used holster and
could not resist...) is not the qickest holster(design). But whilst hunting the
revolver is "out of the way" and for a sitting activity it has advantages, also.
