Anyone just buy a crossbow for the hell of it? I just want to to shoot stuff with, not hunt. Looking at the Center Point 370 Sniper.

Thoughts?

My Scoped Excalibur is amazingly accurate, 2" groups at 50 yards. Stopped shooting groups on the second one because I ruined one of the bolts. Clumsy in the woods though.

Sounds good. Anyone else?

I have a TEN POINT, and I concur with the above post "don't shoot at the same spot twice"

Crossbows? What's not to like? Power out your ears! Accuracy beyond what most archers can do w/ excellent equipment. Repeat shots ... not so fast. Available and affordable. Can use it in the backyard. Can use it in the woods in all but really heavy brush. Crossbows! There's a lot to like! Sincerely. bruce.

Back in the 70's I was pretty deep into competitive archery. One weekend shooting an American Round (That's 20 arrows each at 20 yards, 40 yards, and 60 yards). Our target is the 6 Gold target about 4 ft across, and the center gold is maybe 6". If I recall right the gold was worth 9 points and 540 was "possible". There was a small contingent of crossbow shooters shooting the same match, but their target was about 16-20" and the center gold was maybe 2". (we had used a similar target for 20 yard indoor matches). Needless to say the crossbow shooters shot just as high of scores on that little target as we shot on our 4 ft target.

One of the guys at work got one and took it to the archery range. Set up at a suitable distance, fired off a half dozen bolts and went to check his target.

Found a ragged hole on the target, but never did find any of his arrows.

Yep a lot of folks are using them here....hard to beat the mission 360....the ones that really shoot the ten points a lot, experience broken limbs... They are not the same as traditional archery, where here we were the first to have a bow season with traditional equipment...just sayin.
