I am trading away my Glock 36 for a single stack metal framed 9mm. I want somethng fairly slim for IWB carry, and would like 9mm for ammo commonality withmy G17 and a KelTec SU2000 9mm that I'm getting for my birthday.

Right now, I have two offers on the table and I'm mnot sure which way to go. The first is a S&W CS-9 with 2 mags and a Bianchi leather OWB holster, and the second is a S&W 908 with 3 mags and 2 kydex IWB holsters. Both are in great working condition, but show a little holster wear (as does my G36), both are the factory black finish.

Any suggestions on which to take?

I own both. The CS9 has the rubbery grips that rub on the skin when carried concealed, the 908 has the narrower, more comfortable grips.

The 908 is a little larger and "blocky-er" but still conceals easily.

If you opt for the CS9, "Big Dog" on this forum sells S&W factory grip panels that he skillfully shortens to fit the CS9. That's what I did.

I suggest the 908 because it is ready to go without the grip mods.

Grab the Chiefs Special before someone else does. You can always find a 908 . . . but the CS9 is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Some folks prefer the stock Hogue grips, others opt for G's Big Dog grips. I've got both for my two CS9s. But seriously, if you think you might want a CS9, get one while you can find one!

What MgoBlue said... I have a 908 and I'm constantly hunting for a CS9. It's the harder of the two to find.

I have decided to go with the 908. I met up with a friend that has both and I fired both. The 908 felt better in my hand than the CS9.

There's nothing wrong with that decision...you've got a nice pistol in the 908.

Wow. Well, be sure to tell your friend that if he wants to sell his CS9 he can come over to this forum and list it here. I'm sure that it would sell quickly! Enjoy your 908.
