I was wondering if any manufacturer makes or ever made wooden grips for a CS-9 or CS-40.
Or, even a nice set or rubber grips?
I searched on this forum, but could not find anything. Found a couple of pre production topics.
Any information would be appreciated.

Cobra,
There is a thread on here that talks about a gentleman that is working on some now. Just do a search in the semi auto pages.

All I've ever seen are the factory, single stack, wrap around grips cut in length. The nine is a smaller frame while the 40 and 45 share the same. The U-shaped, single piece, grip is probably a handfull to reproduce.

Thanks for the replies.
BIG DOG - I did see the thread on someone working on them.

Nicksterdemus - I was considering making some, but after really looking at them, as you say, they would be hard to reproduce.

It is a shame that nice grips are not available for these models.
I may still try to make a set.

I still might pick up a single stack grip and cut it down as a project. The Hogue is way too fat and long for my stubby mitts. Reminds me of an old AMT. Considered picking up a set of worn grips, if I run across some, and whittling some to fit my hand. I've even taken the grips off and eyeballed the frame wondering how AL sheet metal would look...

I do make these grips for the Chief Special and have made many for members on this forum.
Here is a pic of my CS45 and there is quite a bit more than just cutting them down.
Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested
