Local seller has this CS1 for sale. I thought the ones with boxes were overruns. This one has a matching box with papers. Claims it came frome an agent. Stamped "M". I know there is a thread on these but it got too deep for me. Very clean gun. Just was wondering the value. Check out the pic. Thanks to all.

Mitch, I probably live down the street from you here in AZ. I've seen this in person and given its not a 3 inch, I felt it was priced way too high at $1750. Just my 2 cents

I haven't heard of any CS1 guns with the 4" barrel (doesn't mean Customs never ordered any with the 4" barrel, just that I've never heard of or seen one). The $1750 ask is more appropriate for the 3" CS1 guns. Maybe even higher for 3".
Check the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson for info on the CS1.

There were both 3 and 4 inch CS-1s

$1750.........why too high IMHO.......the 3 inch guns bring more.... but.....for a 4 inch gun....... at least $700 to high....... not common; kinda rare but......

I have a 4" customized round butt...... 686-"nuttin" and a factory 4" round butt 586-4(?)......my guess in 60 years the 586 will be worth as much as the CS1 guns .........

Yes, CS-1's came in 3 and 4" barrels, the three inch being the more desireable.

4" CS-1

This is a real deal 4" CS-1 "over-run". I purchased this new and still have it. No "M" stamp in yoke. Check your product code on the box and compare it with mine. Should read 104229 for the 4" barrel version.

My dear wife is the Original owner of a CS-1, 3 inch without an "M". We assume this is an over run. Likewise I have a similar CS-1, 3 inch without a "M". Since I am not the original owner, I am also assuming its a over run gun. Both guns have their original boxes.

As others have indicated, CS-1's did come in 3 and 4 inch. If the 4 inch gun is in good shape, then $1000.00 is about right for it...certainly not more that $1200.00 for an exceptional 4 inch. (Three inch guns are a different story on price.)

Best of luck with your venture.
