CS45 Brief Range Report

Well I got my CS45 from GB. This was a very busy week cleaning up from storm damage, but I stopped by the LGS Friday and filled out the paperwork and left, knowing full well I'd be put into pending on the PICS system.

Saturday morning I stopped by and yes, I was finally approved.

Very nice pistol, great condition. Orginal case with one extra mag and papers..

I shot it double action 1st twice, the rest single action. 15 shots total. No FTF/FTE. 230gr FMJ American Eagle, 25 feet indoors.

I missed at least 2 shots. The trigger is good, and I like the grips. helps tame the recoil.

I have 2 more mags inbound. I'll need to practice with this. The potential is there.

I have a CS9 as well, I'll have to look for a CS40 and get the trifecta.

I'm not interested in anything ".40" but I have a CS-45 and CS-9. The potential is definitely there. I don't shoot my CS-45 much anymore but years ago I scored 246 out of 250 on the Texas CHL test using a B-27 silhouette target. I took a combat course or two with it as well. Excellent gun. I admit that my not so recently acquired CS-9 has yet to make it to the range but that day is coming soon. The CS-9 arrived some time before the pandemic (as in several years but I'm lazy! and I was just collecting at the time!) and was put away and then never came out again!

I too have CS9 and CS45 and love 'em both. I keep thinking about a CS40 but then ask myself if I'd ever carry it....and the answer is no. Not because the caliber isn't good (a .40 Beretta PX4c is my bedside gun) but just because if I can carry the 45 and shoot it well enough, why would I carry the same size gun in a lesser bullet? It's kinda why my 9 doesn't get carried a lot; I can tote a 3914 if I want 'thin' in 9; if I want a bunch of 9mm bullets I can take a 6906 or, better yet, a PX4compact in 9 that Langdon really slicked up. (And I'd like to have the CS40 to complete the string, but there are other guns l would really like more...
(And I had my 4513TSW out today and it was the best shooter of everything in the range bag. I really like that gun.

You have to get past the trifecta . I have 2 CS40's , and one I had converted to 10mm by BMCM . I don't know the proper word for trifecta +1 , but there it is .

In my case, the Chief Specials became an infecta.

According to my horsewoman wife, that's called a perfecta.

Congrats again on your CS45! Thats nice shooting for a first outing. And yes, it does get better.

And it takes a little bit of time and work, but it is well worth it. The CS45 is the only small, hammer fired, TDA, metal framed 45 subcompact out there. So, we gotta work with what we got. Regards 18DAI

I love the lines and looks of that gun. I know it would be too much gun for me. But I know you will work at it, and in time those targets will look a lot better. I don't remember, what does a significant number of shots being low-left mean?? Enjoy your new acquisition.
