Hello all,
I have a chance to pick up a CS45 for $420. It comes with S&W case, two mags, and everything else that it came with when new. Gun was carried way more than it was shot. It does have some holster wear but that doesn't bother me, as I will be carrying it from time to time.

So what is the verdict for this little pistol? Any pros/cons I should know about? Is the price in the right ball park?
Im not worried about recoil and the "small gun, large caliber" issues. I had a Kahr PM45 a few years ago and surprising enough, it was a soft shooting .45.

Picture of the CS45 cleaned up after I got it home(Sorry for the lame cell phone pic.)

The CS-45 is the most controllable small 45 I've ever shot. Way better the than the Kahr CW-45 I used to own.

$420 for what you describe is a VERY good price for a CS-45.

As for issues with the gun, they are darn reliable. A replacement recoil spring every few thousand rounds is about the only repair that is normally needed.

Yeah, jump on that!

Then photos are required - gun, holster, target, big smile.

Well, you can skip the big smile, we know what that looks like. :D

BUY IT! The only problem with the CS45 is trying to find the right holster for it. I finally settled on a FIST Paddle Holster for mine; it's concealable, comfortable, and convenient. I think a Big Dog set of grips is a definite improvement, and you might want to consider night sights. You'll love it!:D

CS 45

Good price, picked up mine with 6 mags LNIB for $475 about a year ago.I had been looking for one for about 6 months, when I stumbled across it.Great concealed carry gun.

Great price! Buy it!
As others have stayed..it is a great, small 45 that is
fun and comfortable to shoot. Mine has proven to be worth every
penny($450) out the door. It is also very accurate! Buy it, you won't
regret the smallest S&W 3rd gen 45 made!

Real good deal if its a FTF without having to pay tax and background check. I lucked out back in the fall with a member here that sold me a CS 40 with six mags, BigDog grips in the box shipped for $500. Have not regretted it a for a minute. A bit heavier and wider than my CS9 but it adds to the collection.

Wow! I guess that settles it, I'll be picking it up some time this coming week. Thanks all!
I also have my eye on a LNIB 4513tsw, might have to get that as well!

You're fortunate to have both a CS45 and 4513TSW to consider. I have both and actually prefer the 4513TSW. Its a little bigger and a little less snappy. Both great guns and you can't go wrong with either. So, just buy them both!

You really should go get the 4513... It'll never lose its value if 600 or under .. I have a 2006 last year made 4513TSW.. Of all the Smiths I have I am most consistent and accurate with it.. besides this is not like a plastic gun that everyone has.. you are simply keeping your money in a gun instead of the bank..

I asked that same question on this forum couple months ago

Of Course now I have one

The only con I can think of is that they didn't come with BigDog's grips on them:

Then they might have been as close to perfect as you are going to get.

I would like to say thanks to everyone who has told my to "run out and just get it!" lol, Im glad it is hel in high regards. Since the deal with the 4513 went south, I am going to picking up the CS45 either later today or tomorrow morning. I will post picks once I have it in my possession!
Thanks again! :D

PS I will be ordering a set of Big Dog grips for it as well! Also, can someone suggest an IWB holster for it?

Yes, definitely! Big Dog grips and a Safariland 568 Custom Fit Paddle Holster and you have the perfect concealed carry piece!
