CS9 Mags ??

I would keep an eye on eBay, or maybe Gunbroker. They are apparently hard to come by.
I am keeping an eye out for a spare mag for a CS40 I obtained about 3 months ago. So far no dice.

It's hard to believe that there are no "after market" ones truly available for these CS models.
There are none. If there were, based on the 3913 after market magazines I've seen, they'd be inferior products.
All 3rd Gen magazines have become very expensive over the past 3-4 years. The only reliable ones are the Mec Gar magazines for the 59xx guns.
I've had aftermarket 3913 and 457 magazines and they were junk. You wouldn't think it would be so tough to copy the design, but it is. Or maybe it is if you want to make them cheap and not make them as good as the originals.

I do not know about Arizona, but factory CS9 pop up at Houston gun shows, not common but not rare yet either. Just go through the bins and know what you are looking for.

Pre-rail 3913TSW mags are (7) rounders, the same as the CS-9 mags.
Regular (8) round 3913/3913TSW mags will work but obviously they'll stick out farther.

Heard originals are going for big bucks the last few years when they can be found. Much sought after guns those CS series lately. Yeah one would think more decent after market mags would be available.
There is probably not enough of a market to justify the expense of tooling up for production.
The only real hope is that S&W sees enough of a market to have its vendor make them. Or maybe the vendor will see enough of a market to make some. IF they still have the tooling to do it.

I have to ask, what are CS-9s selling for these days?
That is a good question, it came with the gun. It certainly isn't the proper magazine.

As I recall there are aftermarket mags for 39xx series pistols that do not have a good reputation for reliability. Personally I would be very cautious about using anything except a SW mag in its factory configuration.
Having said that, I believe the 8rd 3913 mags would work with end sticking out, so if those are SW 8rd 3913 mags with spacer, you are probably OK.
The problem is finding 3913 8rd SW mags is just as difficult and expensive as finding the correct CS9 or 3913 7rd magazines.
In fact I have seen the 7rd mags go cheaper than the standard 8rd 3913 mags as there is less demand for the 7rd mags.
Either can be had in the $50-60 price range if you are patient and except for new SW 5906 mags at Midway for $36 or used at AIM Surplus for $20, the $50-60 price range seems to be a fair price for SW 3rd generation mags esp compared to $100+ for 10mm 1006/1076 mags.

Maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but I think factory 3913 Mags are harder to find than CS9 Mags.
LOL, for me the hardest magazines to find are the ones I need.
That's why I buy the mags when I find them & look for their gun later.

Ditto - Bought NOS 4040PD mags at bargain price (23.99 free shipping) off eBay then had to buy a pistol to match. Really odd mag unique to 4040PD frequently selling (or at least asking) $50-75 but they were still available for $24 last I checked - S&W 4040 Magazine SMI27646 - just have to keep your eyes peeled and check classifieds below.

The odd stuff is pricey if you are looking for it but cheap if you are trying to unload it. Stumbled across guy who had bought some early 3913TSW 7rd mags not realizing they wouldnt work in his late 8rd 3913TSW. Dont remember what I paid, but well under $50 and we were both happy. Lots more people looking for the standard 8rd 3913/3913TSW mags.

It wasn't that long ago Midway had CS9 , 908 , and 3913 mags . About all they have now is 5900 series mags .

I just found S&W factory mags for the 4040 PD at Gunmagwarehouse for $17 something. I purchased three of them. They have the flat base plates. I ordered new base plates from Midway USA.
