CS9 - New to me

I was lucky to find and purchase this CS9 in excellent condition almost a month ago from a forum member on the East Coast. It was a flawless transaction and I could not be happier. The only drawback was handling it at my FFL and then having to leave it for the 10 day California wait.

It will take the place of my 908s as an EDC. I have taken it to the range 3 times and fired 250 flawless rounds through it. I am very pleased with the accuracy and comfort when shooting it.

Congratulations. I had one, loved the gun, hated the grip, sold it off and regret it to this day. If I had known that a few years later Big Dog would come out with modified delrin grips for the CS9 series I would have never let it go. Enjoy your CS9 and make sure you never sell it!

That's a beauty. I have one in black, which is almost, but not quite, as nice. It's more or less become my EDC, although I sometimes carry my CS9 or 3914. It all depends on the weather and my mood.

I own a late production CS9, myself.

I waited a long time to order one because I didn't see how the slightly smaller CS9 could really improve upon my 3913.

Once I spent a couple of range sessions wring out another instructor's CS9, I ordered one.

It lacked nothing in the way of practical accuracy when compared to my 3913, and the grip fit my hand as it they'd used me for the model.

Nice balance, being a bit more rearward in my hand. The faster cycling seemed to offer a little bit more of a snap in the muzzle whip, but it came back on target even more quickly than my favored 3913. Light, snug & hand-filling grip, fast-handling and surprisingly accurate.

I should have bought two of them.

I actually like the CS9 more than my CS45, even though I have more time with (and many, many more rounds through) my well-worn CS45.

Handy little 9mm. S&W really needs to fill the gap left when they dropped the gun from their catalog. (I'm hoping the replacement is from within their M&P line, and not their Bodyguard line, myself. )

What a great buy ! I had a CS9D which I bought from a county sheriff. I gave this handgun to my son for protection. I also have a CS40 for home protection. These are the top 3rd generation S&W handguns.

Thanks. I too like the feel of the stock grip. I have larger hands and it is very comfortable to shoot. I know the Big Dog grips are identical in size to my 908S, which is also comfortable for me, and thus will reduce the overall width for concealment. When extra funds become available I might order some so I have options.

I am very impressed with the accuracy and comfort when shooting it. My goal eventually is to find a CS40 as well as CS45 to complete the CS family. Available funds will dictate when I begin the search.

I agree that S&W created a void when they stopped producing the 3rd gen handguns. I would like nothing better than to see them come back into production.
