I went through 11 pages of search and did not find an answer or comparable post.

Has anyone who sold their CS9 which was replaced by the Shield wanting to return back to the CS9.

I have the itch for a new gun and in order for that to happen, one has to go.

I held a Kimber Solo today and can only get two fingers on it. Was unimpressed and for what the owner paid....no thank you. Had a Kahr PM9 and while it was very small, I got bit really hard with a mag change as I did not move my pinky out of the way, probably because I thought I was loading my 1911 in competition....well you know the rest. I sold it to a brother officer.

I can get 2.5 fingers on my CS9D with the pinky extension and while there is nothing wrong with my CS9D....maybe I bored. I would need to hold a Shield in my 3X mitts.

If the Shield is the "CHIT".....me want one, but not sure if I want to part with my CS9D. maybe have to hold out till Christmas and give myself a present.

If the CS9 is your carry gun, I would make sure you really like the Shield before you dump it. I would hate to sell it, then decide you really don't like the Shield.

I am in the same boat. I want the shield but need to sell my CS9 to fune it. I like the CS9 but the deciding factor for me is the 10oz weight difference. I helf the shield and it felt great. My issued guns are an M & P 9mm.... and an M & P 9c. I like both of them. I also have a BG380 for pocket carry. I think the Shield would be a great addition. Ihave just have to let go of my CS9....:(

I really want to pick up a CS9, and the pics in this thread are making me want one that much more. The Shield is cool, I have a PPS .40 that fits the same niche so I don't want one, but consider this: plastic guns aren't going anywhere and the Shield is a runaway success. You can save your pennies and get one for retail in a few months or a year, but if you guys let go of that CS9 you may be looking at severe sticker shock if you decide you just have to have another one in the future. Unfortunately the 3rd Generation is now a part of firearms history, and the prices are rising everywhere I look...

I'll be glad to be a buyer for a CS9...I can wait on the Shield,I'm not much for being first in line on new stuff.
I learned that from the 8 track tape era....

SW CQB 45,
Looks like you had a melt job done on your slide. If so who did the work and where are they located? Did you have it converted to DAO or is that the way it came from the factory?

gasaman, all work was done by me...grips, dehorn, sights, etc. (DAO is factory. CS9D...the "D" mean DAO")

file, dremel, sandpaper, brew and a media blast cabinet and I can be dangerous.

rifle...you are dating yourself however I agree with you. I will just start saving and get it down the road. did your 8track come factory in an AMC Pacer???

I saw a 1970 Rallye 350 going down the road the other day....so I am dating myself. my first car was a 72 Cutlass and always wanted a Rallye 350. 1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350 for sale Michigan - YouTube

Well, while I want to pick up a Shield 9 as soon as the LE distributor can get one of the pending LE models, I still want to keep my CS9.

I may not carry my 3913 as much anymore, but I'm planning on keeping it, too.

If it were me, I'd hold off on the Shield for as long as it took to come up with the extra disposable cash. (You were doing just fine before they released the Shield, right?)

Then again, someone will be probably plenty glad to take a CS9 (especially a CS9D stainless) off your hands ... and laugh all the way home, no doubt. ;)

I learned my lesson some years ago with a couple of revolvers with which I'd become bored, and which I let slip through my fingers to other cops. I kicked myself for a long time once I'd realized what I'd done.

It took many years for both of those revolvers to eventually come back to me.

Howdy Fastbolt.

good to hear from you.

I will likely hold on to it. I get bored easily when a gun sits mainly in a bag and only qualify once a year. its considered a back up gun to my duty weapons whether in uniform or plain clothes. if I am off, its still sits in my FATBOY Max. shoulder bag (man purse) which goes with me.

what can you tell me about a LE Version of the Shield???

thanks in advance

I would not sell my CS9 or 3913 to fund a Shield....save up and get one if you really want one.

I held but have yet to live fire a Shield and decided that they have yet to improve on either CS9 or my 3913......just my thoughts.

Randy

Dunno what the difference will be for the "LE version", but I'm waiting to hear.

Maybe just already "packaged" with night sights, laser and/or an extra mag? Maybe offered like the LAPD BG380, without the thumb safety (from what I've heard elsewhere, but dunno for sure)? Some sort of individual direct offer price break?

I'll let you know when I hear ...

If it were me, I'd wait until the Shield has been out awhile and proven itself. Your CS9D has proven itself to you, and I would not let a proven weapon go! Dale

I own both and even though I am patial to the Chief special the shield has been flawless also.
I am open to buy CS 9 40 and 45 if you want to sell them. It might be a smaller market with the hype of the new shield but my lil CS9 will go when I go also.

Well, I am not interested in a Shield just yet. But I am selling my CS9 if anyone is interested. It is matte stainless with original box, three magazines and in excellent condition with not a mark that I can see.

Warning: Feeding frenzy alert on CS9's no longer wanted by new Shield owners. The CS9 would be one of the last guns I would sell. You will all be sorry if you sell your CS9.

Anyone that wants to sell their CS9 feel free to let me know.

Hmmm. I was just contemplating putting my wife's CS9 (95% finish, da/sa, ambi safety) up on the block complete with the box, 2 mags, and big dog grips. I fully realize what I have and they don't make them any more but she doesn't carry it and hardly ever did so I don't see the point in keeping it otherwise than just as a potential collector's item. With all i've got into it i wouldn't pass it along for a loss though. I need to think about selling this item a bit more but I'd say I'm past the tipping point of holding onto it and leaning towards selling it.

I plan to wait until the Shield has been out for a while. At some point the mania will die and people will start selling them for any number of reasons and they will show up in both private and dealer sales.

In the meantime I plan to sell my M&P9c. Not because it's not a nice reliable firearm, but because I haven't carried it since I got a CS9. The CS9 is much lighter and less bulky, it just carries more easily.

I also want to buy a 3913 to add to my collection of 3rd generation semis and can use the money for that.

The shield might become the new CS9, but it's too early to tell yet.
