I’ve been shooting and carrying my CSX on and off for over a year. I sent it off for slide milling a couple of weeks ago and had them install a VORTEX Defender with a 6 MOS Red Dot. I got the slide back Monday and made it to the range today. Sighted it in at 25yards with 124gr Hornady XTP handloads. The attached target is my last round of 5 shots at 25yds at a 3” Dia target from a rest. I’m happy with how it turned out. Nameless Armament did the slide cut, no plate, and he uses a tight fit vice pins to take the lateral forces and so the screws don’t get shear forces. I chose the Defender for several reasons, one of which it has a built-in sight notch, so I just need to replace the front sight with the correct height FO sight from Dawson to have useful backup irons. Some people complain about the Defender refresh rate being slow which I don’t think will be an issue for me. I also had a Deltapoint Pro installed on a 1st GEN M&P 9 at the same time. Between the two my goal is to shoot them as well as I do iron sighted guns. It will take some time.
