Curious question

OK on the back of my Sigma there is that black plastic part on the slide that holds in the extractor pin. Now I noticed a day ago that the slide is catching on this part as the slide is cycled back and forth. Not enough to hinder performance but enough to be annoying. Now what do I use to shave down the black plastic part so it is not rubbing parts on the receiver?

On the bottom of the black piece on the left hand side. That square hole is the issue.

1--Fine cut pattern file.
2--200 to 400 mesh emery paper folded over a butter knife.

S&W will send you one for free as the original owner. I lost the plastic plug that fits in the bottom of the grip that butts up against the magazine floor plate on my 40VE somehow. I sent S&W a letter (E-Mail didn't work so well) asking if I could purchase a new plug. They sent me a replacement for free. I had a gouge in the rear plate you speak of on my 9VE from trying to put the slide on without taking proper care to avoid a collision of steel parts on the lower and the plastic at the rear of the slide. Didn't replace it, though. But, yeah, S&W should hook you up with a replacement.

I'd call SW before I started cutting or filing on anything. I really can't tell what you are talking about from the pictures. SW will take care of of it regardless if you bought it new or used.

I hope so. I haven't heard back from them yet but it's still early as I just emailed last night. The question is after I get the part how to install it. Guess I will cross that bridge when I get there.

For what it's worth, sending them a letter got an almost immediate response. All I got from E-Mails were the numbers of people who never answered when I called.
