I see different pictures of guns where the trigger has some kind of lock-out in front of it. What is the significance, other than the obvious one? The gun's safe. I'm not knocking it but if I'm taking a pic of my gun, I know it's safe. I'm OCD about gun safety. I check my guns before handling them everytime even though I know no one else has handled them in my house.

Do you mean something like this? If yes, its just a device to hold the gun at a suitable angle for photography.
