Currant Sheild 1.0 VS 2.0 trigger is it worth $100.

I just got my Shield 9mm 1.0 back from my son. I'd loaned it out to him as his carry gun was in the shop. After trying the trigger again after a month or so, I'm again amazed that so many people are unsatisfied with the trigger on the 1.0. It really isn't bad at all, especially for the type of gun. I wouldn't spend a dime on improvements to the trigger or find it as a reason to buy another version. But buy whatever floats your boat. It's nice to have so many choices.

I don't understand all the obsession with the trigger. It's a frieken carry gun! It's not a target pistol! If the trigger gives you problems, then practice more. The 1.0 has an above average trigger for a striker fired gun. I definitely would NOT put a apex in my carry gun, but of course YMMV.

As long as you can define the fight as being fast and close range, an average trigger is fine.

But if for some reason the fight is longer range, or only a small part of your adversary is visible behind cover, or you need to make a head shot, or . . .

Then the additional precision of an improved trigger that you have trained and practiced with is an advantage. It is no disadvantage for the fast close range fight either.

Often, our choices are driven by wants as much as needs.

Nothing wrong with that. But in that case, you might be better off with a 1911. Whatever works for you though.
