A buddy picked this one up at a LGS. Spent a little time on the range in spite of the 90degree heat.
4" model 58 44 magnum. Best I can tell someone round butted the grip frame and put a 4"
29 barrel and 29 cylinder on it. They buzzed the barrel rib serrations and front sight ramp off and pinned a sight blade. Only thing I would do different is shorten it to 3". Because 3".
Shooting mag tech low recoil was like a 38 special in a K. Wish I had seen it before he did.

Nice looking 44 Magnum. The one below was done by S&W in 1974. It has a 3 1/4-inch barrel, custom round butt, and thinned trigger guard.

Very cool! Looks like a precursor to some of the later Lew Horton production runs. The thinned trigger guard may have been inspired by the 1973 Texas Ranger Model 19-3 of which I am very fond.

The thinned trigger guard predates the Texas Ranger Model 19. Bill Jordan had this done to several of his revolvers.

To me, it is superior to the cutaway Fitz trigger guards.

Very cool Gary!

I have seen several done like this. One of our absent comrades had one done up for his EDC.

I grabbed an example in 44 mag at the symposium year before last. I have posted photos of my copy of Doc44's in 41 mag that I had made several years ago.

The fixed sight N frames are a lot of fun to shoot.
