It looks ok.

This is just my preference and please do not take what I am about to write as a negative statement about the above rifle.

If I'm going to buy a complete AR, it's going to be a single manufacturer complete AR. No warranty ambiguity or finger pointing from all the different component manufacturers.

I'd rather build Frankenstein AR's myself and save $$$.

That seems like a lot of money for that Frankengun. A lot of factory rifles with really good specs for that kind of money at real world street price.

I never understood the whole Frankengun thing.

If you can build one for real cheap for your own use, great.

If you build it to sell for twice what you got in it, I guess there is a sucker born every day.

Why would someone even buy a gun made from several manufacturers, especially if it is priced for much more than the sum of the parts?

Reeder is a boutique builder, better known for 1911s but this one doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

this isnt a real build, it is an open a bunch of boxes and slap the parts together. 40 minutes later (including a coffee break) viola' you have an AR, and because you have a "name" (I have never heard of him but that doesnt mean anything) you can expect to make a profit off of it. Dang think of the stack of warranty cards that would come with that. You would spend all day just filling them out. LOL

I stopped at CMMG. I have an out of spec lower that I am dealing with them on. Not the best customer service.

Save money? I don't know where you got that idea... When I build a frankenrifle, it's because I want certain parts, and usually, those parts can't be found on "factory" guns. Besides, shipping adds a lot to the net cost, especially if you build the gun over time. I paid $1000 for my S&W (not counting all the mods I made to it after purchase), and then spent $1600 buidling a frankenrifle. My frankenrifle specs out WAY better than the one in this thread...

From the site..........

Kase just finished this one and it is full custom all the way. Here are the features:
Wilson Combat flattop upper S&W MP-15 lower CMMG gas piston system with Les Baer bolt, Magpul forend, grip and CTR stock with mil spec tube Battle Comp 1.5
Daniel Defense barrel and fixed rear sight
Troy Industries front sight with target post.
The normal retail on this gun with it's features would be $2195, but Kase has priced it at a special sale price of $1595.  MORE PHOTOS

Gary Reeder is known for his revolvers, while Kase Reeder is known for his 1911's. I don't know if this is his first rifle, but I wouldn't buy that either. On another note, I don't think it is too much money ask for that rifle - it has good components and was built by pro's.

Just my opinion...

Silly question. Are the lowers from all the different S&W 15's the same? If so, having read a lot of letters about wanting to change out trigger groups (I have a Sport), why would they build a boutique gun with a lower with a trigger that not all are happy with. If our lowers are different triggers, then hopefully they used one with a great trigger.
