I was considering buying a Blood Work 627 revolver. I have been trying to get one for a while now.
The problem is, I want to carry it and I just cannot force my self to buy a good one and then carry it. The used ones are still pretty high as far as the price.
I am considering buying a 627 PC model, and possibly having the barrel cut down on it to the length of the Blood Work revolver. I know this would require cutting the barrel, the under lug and the extractor, and moving the sight.
I have checked locally, and cannot find anyone willing to do it.
My question is, would this be possible? Has anyone ever had this done? Does anyone know what the charge would be for something like this, if it is possible?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Do a site search on this topic in the last two weeks. There were several references to a custom smith that would cut, crown, and install a ramped front sight for $200, I believe.

Thanks for the reply John.
I did a search, found a couple posts.
If I remember correctly, the posts were about cutting L frames.
It looks like the 627 PC might be a challenge, maybe I am wrong thinking that.
I will check with SDM and see what they say.
Thanks again.

The barrel cutting process is exacly the same whether for K, L, N frames, or whatever.

The SDM website has a nice photo series showing how they do it, and the results obtained.

Thanks again John, I was just checking out their web site. They are not that far away from me.
