I was cleaning my 337Ti last night after a trip to the range with it. The cylinder backed out to the point that it jammed against the left grip. I had to take the grips off to free it. The front side plate screw was tight. I have never seen this happen before. I put it back in place but I am concerned that it will happen again at the worst time! Any ideas? Do I need to send it to S&W?

cylinder

yes it needs to go to s&w, there is a cylinder stop built into the frame of the newer guns, old guns had a cylinder stud pressed into the frame. if the cylinder is comming back toward the grip the crane could be bent outwards or the stop is not big enough.
