Hey, y'all.
I have a 360 pd looks like its getting some erosion on the cylinder. shocking. i was wondering if any of you have had experience sending back to S&W. not the original owner, don't know how old it is. I've read some have had it swapped for steel no charge.

I was also considering just buying a steel cylindered. I've seen some guys have had luck. does anyone know if all .357 j frame cylinders the same specs? price seems to vary by model, don't know if that the finishes or if they are cut different. been reading up on fitting them, seem like it'd be fun to try. thanks!

Cylinder needs often needs fit to the yoke. Interestingly the carry up and timing are less apt to need any adjustment, The newer cylinders on the "magnum" frames are longer than the older mode 36 type. I think the long integral frame lug vs small pressed in lug IDs the change,

I've had pretty good luck swapping cylinders (and hammers & triggers) in newer 'MIM' era Smiths. They aren't hand fitted like they used to be.

S&W used to do some things as paid work that were non standard. About 15 years ago I sent a revolver back, and Vito fit a different type cylinder for me. Now days, I doubt S&W would would exchange a titanium cylinder for steel, especially for free/under warranty, etc. But you never know till you ask...
