Just received a .38 S&W, Regulation Police, S/N 36091. I'm tearing it down for a complete and thorough cleaning/inspection. And, it is nasty! I think it was manufactured circa 1929, but please feel free to correct me if that's wrong.
I've taken several cylinder assemblies apart for more modern revolvers, but not one this old. I know that with it being an I-frame, those threads have to be pretty fine. I've soaked the assembly with Kroil and tried today to rock it a little bit both ways, but no luck. So, before I put any real torque on it, I wanted to confirm whether it was left-hand threads, or right-hand. Please help.
